Are You Ready?
It’s been a long winter, and Emerson College Quidditch is finally ready for the Ultima season to start! Due to circumstances regarding Boston weather, park permits, and other complications, it’s been a slow start to this season. But as April approaches, it’s time to brush off the snow, hail, and rain and get ready! Read on for important information regarding the Ultima schedule, our end-of-season banquet, and more.
Ultima Season Schedule
In the interest of having as full of a season as possible, we have condensed the entire Ultima season into two weekends in April! One-game matches will be played on April 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th, with the season culminating with our Griffith Cup tournament on April 27th. Details regarding this condensed schedule can be found here on our website. And make sure to note the double-header which will be on April 13th! Come out and support all of our intramural league teams those days whether you’re playing, reffing, or just watching. We can’t wait to see you out on the pitch!
Banquet & Elections
We will be holding our Ultima Banquet & Elections on the evening of April 22nd (a Tuesday) in the Beard Room. Captains will be handing out superlatives, graduating seniors will be recognized, and (most importantly) voting will be held for the 2014-2015 Executive Board! All E-Board and captain positions are open for election, so everyone is encouraged to submit their nomination. More information about nominating yourself will be posted on our website and Facebook page by the end of the week. Remember, all current members of ECQ are eligible to run for an E-Board or captain position (with the exclusion of Commissioner and Vice President). So #NominateYourself!
If you are interested in helping with our Banquet & Elections, please contact our Sales/Marketing Director Ashley Newman at email@example.com. We’re looking for people to help gather food donations, decorate, run a photo booth at the event, and more! The more people who can help, the better this event will be!
Besides running an intramural league, Emerson College Quidditch is a multi-departmental organization with many ways to get involved! Read on for more information about getting involved with each department.
Gameplay Director: Ryan Smythe / firstname.lastname@example.org
As we move into our condensed Ultima schedule, we’re going to need all of the help we can get! We’re looking for talented referees to regulate our games, and snitches to help end them! The Gameplay department oversees referees, snitches, and more. If you’re interested, contact Ryan Smythe or talk to your captains.
Communication Director: Todd Mitchell / email@example.com
The Communications department creates content for our newsletters and website, such as write-ups about weekly games and quidditch-related events. The Communications department is currently working on documenting ECQ’s history as well. If you are interested in learning more about ECQ’s past, please let us know! All help is appreciated, no matter what major you are.
Media Director: Brooke Lydon / firstname.lastname@example.org
Nothing is cooler than having a quidditch profile picture on Facebook. But we need photographers and videographers to make that happen for you! We are currently looking for photographers from each intramural league team to assist in documenting our condensed Ultima season. There’s also a chance to get involved with a cool promo video for ECQ, so contact us if you’re interested!
Sales/Marketing Director: Ashley Newman / email@example.com
As previously mentioned, we’re currently looking for anyone interested in helping make our Banquet & Elections a success! And moving forward, we want to plan events like movie nights, video game tournaments, and more for all of ECQ! This is another great opportunity to get involved with ECQ and learn more about our organization.
If you have any questions about any of the departments, please email their respective email addresses. We’re excited for a great Ultima season and Griffith Cup, and I look forward seeing you all as the season progresses.
